I spent several years, before and during lockdown, working as a volunteer music therapist for palliative-care wards across the Sydney South West district. During this experience, I provided support for patients by taking requests and playing music as a means of providing relief and comfort.
I started the “Heart Beat Project” which took the heartbeats of deceased patients and I’d record their favourite song over their heartbeat to give to their family as a memorial gift.
These intimate experiences have shown me just how powerful music is in helping us process emotions and celebrating the life of our loved ones.
With over 20 years of experience, music has been apart of my life since I was a child and I want to share with you the comfort it has provided me.
